I have been waiting for begging Little Comets to play in Philadelphia since first hearing their music in 2011, and two years later the night is finally here!! Little Comets play North Star Bar tonight with The Dig and Like Crazy as support. Doors open at 8PM and the show is only $12, you can get your tickets here or at the door!
I first found Little Comets after they released their first record, In Search Of Elusive Little Comets. I took that album everywhere… I listened to it in the car, at work, and made friends and family listen to it. Everything about the band and their music was smart, beautiful, and artistic. Not only was their album a favorite, but every music videos they released was breathtaking. I wanted everyone in the world to know about this unbelievable band and so I told everyone I could about them. I went to SXSW for the first time that same year, and made sure to see them live twice while I was there. Little Comets put on a killer live show, I remember seeing the faces of everyone in the room light up. SXSW is magical because some people end up at shows not knowing what they are getting into, and everyone that day left a fan of Little Comets. The venue had front windows that were open and since the venue was filled to capacity, people stopped in the street to listen to the rest of their set. Later in the week, to my pleasant surprise, I ran into them on the street and basically interviewed them, for myself, as a fan. I can confirm, like their music, they are some of the smartest, nicest, most beautiful people I have ever met. Seeing them play in such a great venue in Philly has been a dream of mine and I cannot wait for it to come true tonight, just in time to hear new music from their brilliant upcoming album Life Is Elsewhere!
